A little YouTube Ranking Factor

I was watching some videos on creating video essays, and among many videos on the suggestion, this video caught my eye. I like to watch The Nerdwriter and he is popular for creating video essays, So, I clicked on it.

And guess what, it talked about a bit about "creating video essays".

It didn't have mentioned, "video essays" prominently. Not in the Title, not in the important portion of video description (it is once mentioned the description but not prominent at all), not in tags.

It showed up when I was researching about "video essays", so certainly YouTube understands a little bit of what this video is about.

So there are two places which normally you would not consider while doing YouTube SEO, but these two seems to be really important as YouTube is suggested this video to me.

2 places I found the keyword is mentioned:

#1. It is mentioned in the video. So, at the beginning of the video it discussed his researching process and getting some suggestions for people getting into video essays. It may be possible that you are able to extract the sound in the video and learn about the topic.

Well, it is just presumption, but the next must be important.

#2. It is mentioned in the time strand. The video is a QnA on different topics, so there is not one main topic for a video, which generally disaster for SEO. And this thing prevails in the prominent part of the video description. So, only place YT knows that this video is somewhat relevant to video essays is from that time strand. But there are a lot many topics mentioned along with video essays so that dilutes the fact that this vid is also about video essays.

So, yeah use time strands for your parts and subtopics for each video, that helps YouTube to understand the videos and videos rank better.
